Home Is A Slice Of Heaven

Ashtyn and I are back in Seattle after spending exactly 5 days in Salt Lake City. We flew in on Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. and flew out Monday night at 9:30 p.m. Thursday we spent part of the day at Primary Children's Hospital getting blood labs and hanging with our hospital friends.  Friday we went back for another part-day for Ashtyn to get two units of red blood cells and chatted with nurses, a nurse practitioner, and an oncologist we love. On Saturday night Ashtyn spent a few hours at her grandparent's house on her dad's side with aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sunday she took three young cousins to Build-A-Bear to fulfill her 5th birthday promise to Nevie. Other than that, every other moment was pretty much spent at home. Before leaving Seattle we both anticipated how we wanted to spend our days in Salt Lake City. When asked "What are you going to do?!", Ashtyn and I both agreed that all we wanted to do was sit in our actual home and have visitors come to us. That's exactly what happened and it was perfect! Not one of the five days and nights went by without a perfectly timed stream of family and friends who came to say "Hi". It felt like it was all remarkably scheduled when it wasn't scheduled at all! By the time we left for the airport Monday night, Ashtyn felt she had made good use of time and my heart was full. I didn't take pictures of every visitor because I try not to be too annoying, but the following photos will give you a small picture of our slice of heaven.
