It Really Is A Wonderful Life
Life is how you look at it. We are happy, excited, and blown away by how wonderful life is. I was talking to Ashtyn today after meeting with her stellar nurse practitioner Jennifer. Ashtyn may be disappointed she can't go to high school like her peers but she is doing spectacular things. She is making a difference in individuals lives by being inspiring. She's contributing to the patient population enabling doctors, nurses, and others to do what they are passionate about, serving and saving lives. She is paving the way in medical advancements that will benefit lives for future cancer patients. She is learning to trust God in every situation, that sometimes "God's greatest gift are unanswered prayers" and "I want what You want Lord and nothing less." Do you see why life is so good, so joyful, and so amazing?! Ashtyn and I wouldn't want anything less than the life we have. I stand true to my belief, trials of this life are mercies in disguise. The latest medical news is that we are waiting for insurance to approve Daratumumab. Dr Luke Maese in Salt Lake City already submitted Daratumumab to insurance in February to be approved as a back up plan. Isn't that amazing?! Insurance has denied the drug so far. Dr Cooper is in Finland with oncologist from around the world so another doctor in Seattle will do a peer to peer call with an insurance doctor to try to get the drug approved. Please pray Daratumumab will be approved. Ashtyn has the greatest team by her side. She has family, friends, and strangers praying, commenting, writing cards, sending packages, and loving her. She has an outstanding medical team at Seattle Children's Hospital and Primary Children's Hospital. She has Dr. Luke Maese who has stood by her for over 1 1/2 years being involved in every detail and continues to regularly email the team in Seattle. She has world renowned doctors in Seattle who are hopeful for her in finding the unique treatment that will get rid of cancer for good. She has an ever watchful Heavenly Father who is so aware of her. I couldn't be happier. Ashtyn is on fire. We have my brother, his family, Ethan, Morgan, and my parents in Seattle for the weekend. No better way to celebrate our exciting and wonderful life.
